"Held Hostage" Ab Workout

This is how it started. The baby was sitting on me and I was singing the "Eentsy Weentsy Spider" (I know, some people say "itsy bitsy" we're "eentsy weensty" people), to him while he was bobbing up and down on my stomach. Well, after a couple of "bobs," I realized my stomach was getting quite a little workout because I had to contract my muscles before he came crash landing down on all of my organs. Good times...
Until they ganged up on me. I don't know why I'm laughing. Because for some reason it was utterly hysterical? Mutiny maybe? They really could overtake me if they wanted to...

My abs are already sore. But I'm not sure if it's bruised-sore or muscle-sore.

Having watched that with the sound off (no speakers at work), it's still pretty wonderful. Sometimes it blows my mind that we're practically the same age, but I have two cats and a messy apartment and you have three kids and a house and a husband. But it's really, really beautiful.

Hey ladies, thanks for the comments. I posted this and thought, people are going to think this is either really fun/funny or really annoying...so thanks!

(and Julie, will you send me an email?katieo@sisterskinny.com)

jaime, LOL, it's probably a good thing you aren't able to hear...
as for being the same age, I know, it's funny, most of my friends that I grew up with think I've gone off the deep end (...and my house is messy too- so we've got that in common, lol..)

I'm sorry to have to tell you this but it's an "itsy bitsy" spider. You are doing it all wrong. ;)

katieo said...

vanilla,

Just say it,

"Eentsy weentsy."

Next time you're singing it to your boys, try it. I've never looked back.

The itsy bitsy's are missing out.

katie, that was the CUTEST video of all time. i was totally laughing cause you were laughing, and laughed ever harder when they all three were sitting on you and you had a face full of diaper. HILARIOUS. totally made my day.

favorite part - when baby decides he wants back on and tries to step on your face. Then proceeds to bounce on your face.

you're a fun mom.

That is one big pile of love. I love it when my kids attack me!

I was laughing so hard I snorted. :)

Sigh. How do you make it look so easy?!

For every shrieking kid ("shriekling") that causes my ovaries to shrivel up into raisins, there's a blogger video that redeems motherhood. ;)

Too cute.

LOL! That was awesome. You totally had me laughing with you.

OK...American Idol (I really should just get your email address) :)
I felt SO BAD for him. I think the pressure is just insane. Everybody was saying that he was the one to beat, and he's just this little kid! I can't imagine how nerve racking that must be. I think he'll either come back next week to wow us, or this just totally threw off his game and we won't ever quite recover. I'm hoping he jumps back next week (of course). Other than him--Brooke, Michael and David Cook are my favorites. Oh, and Jason. :)

So cute! I love when Baby tries to kick you the in head! Charming! :) And that he was basically bouncing his diaper against your chin -- so funny!

Oh Yes I'm very familiar with this ab routine ;)

Baby was watching this intently taking notes...

Thanks Rae ;)

and heather, ohmygosh, that diaper was what killed me- it was definitely NOT empty.

thanks for the comments guys, gotta run and pick up the big one from the bus stop! :)

we should be friends because my boys do the same exact thing to me. :) i know exactly what you mean by having to contract your abs to prepare for the blow. aren't boys so silly and fun?!

So cute (and painful)! I love "Baby" sitting on your neck...your poor face was as red as a beet by the end of their "mutiny"! :)

Very funny. I laughed and tears even came out. Great post! And I, of course, side with the eensy weensy's.

So cute, my kids love to love me til it hurts too ;) Your boys are so adorable and that has to count as an intense ab workout.

That is SOOOOOO cute!!!!! How fun (in a painful kinda way, lol)!

My kids like to sit on us when we do ab work, too. Or on my back when I'm trying to do yoga. Our own little personal trainers!
