The brown rice is prepared, the broccoli is ready for the monday morning blanch, runs are planned, weights are planned, meals are planned. Not to mention the scale is down from Friday, awesome workout on Saturday, and this Saturday is my 10K. I've been cutting my portions and for the most part eating tons of vegetables (even on the weekend too! sadly that's usually out of character for me). Did I mention I'm water guzzling fool?
I'm on a roll.
In fact, I'm on so much of a roll that I'm a little confused.
"Is this me? Who is this super motivated person who has taken over my brain and body?" Not only do I believe I can reach my goal; I see myself there, so close I can taste it. It's like someone has turned a switch in my brain that's like, "C'mon. let's do this already! Quit screwing around and lets get into those 6's!"
I feel like the fairy godmother of motivation has bestowed the perfect amount of magical fire-in-my-belly. It feels like forever since I've seen her, I wish I knew how to keep her coming back. (Although she looks more like Gabrielle Reece than the one from Cinderella...) I'll just enjoy it while it lasts!

I'm the first to comment - Yahoo! (I promise I don't stalk you) Way to go Katie - you will rock that race.
Way to go sister! It is amazing how once you "get in the zone" it's easy to stay there. But for me, it only takes ONE day off to alter my MOJO. So, stay strong!
I think it is the endorphins, because the fairy godmother seems to have put a spell on me as well. I ran yesterday, cooked a nice meal, did laundry, cleaned the house, got clothes together for charity, etc. lordy. I still want to do more too. haha.
So what is your plan to train for a 10k? Do you just practice running a lot or are you on a plan. My next goal is a 10k. I finished the 5k (not in an official race but got the mileage down...)
thanks amber!
danielle, I know what you mean, I'm going to take advantage of this for as long as I can!
cara, Well, you're ahead of me with the laundry and cleaning! I don't follow a running plan. My goal is simply to make sure I can run the distance comfortably before the race. So I worked up to six and a half. I'll run 2 miles, then 4, then 3, then 2, then 5, etc. Mostly it's what I have time for that day, then on Saturday's I'd really push for my long run. I know you're just going for mileage, but races are *really* fun...
Hahaha! Gabrielle Reese as your fairy godmother, I love it!
Way to go on the motivation, and I know what you mean! I feel the same! It must be because Spring is around the corner...
Thanks for the info Kateio! I would like to do a race, but am working the mileage up first. I need to get some friends to go with me, or else i will be too nervous. or maybe my confidence from running will qualm the nervousness. haha.
Katieo - OMG! That is EXACTLY how I have felt for the last 4 months! It is such a gift when everything just clicks and your motivation is high. I started really, truly believing my goal was within my reach for the first time and it feels so great! So glad you are experiencing this too. Hope it just keeps on building and growing. Best of luck with your 10K. I have my 5K on Saturday!
Awesome! Love the motivation fairy!
That's awesome!
The motivation fairy flew straight by my house without stopping this last couple days, but hopefully I can flag her down soon for a little visit.
Way to go!
Wow, that's some pretty impressive planning, Ms. Katie.
You continue to rock my world. I barely pull all that off and I don't have four boys to contend with (yes, I'm including your husband in the boy count!) ;)
I'll be thinking of you this Saturday!
I understand what you are saying - there have been times in my life where I have thought - this weight loss and working out thing is SO easy, why can't everyone do it? I think that once you are on a roll it has been programmed in you to be automatic and you just do it and it is less of a struggle. I wish that I was there right now! I am struggling, but not giving up! Good luck on your 10 K!
Way to go! I love it when the groove hits. You will be in those size 6's in no time flat.
Thank you for posting this -- your enthusiasm and motivation is contagious!
Since my mini-meltdown yesterday, I feel like I've taken the bull by the horns and made similar steps: dinner is prepped, lunches are prepped, my schedule is cleared, and I've had two helluva good workouts!

Stop questioning it! Shh!!! You'll jinx yourself!
Just keep it up and then write a book telling all your secrets and make outrageous claims about how you can lose 30lbs in one week.
Or just keep blogging...
It's so nice once you're in the flow, kickin butt and takin names. Sometimes I think it's so much easier to stay with it rather than fight yourself to not! :) Yay for you!
sarah, well, it was either her or Bob Harper...
and Cara, just do it! Or maybe you can do what I did that first race, I signed up my neighbor without her knowing, (love you Jeanne!)
Nothing to be nervous about. If you can run the distance, you'll be fine. What about running it with your boyfriend?
lucas, good luck on that 5K! I'll be thinking of you this saturday!
Scrumpy, well she (or him if it's the Bob version) has obviously been over to your place too!
Crabby, waa. Well, if I were prepping for a move cross country, I know she would stay far FAR away from me!
Glam, LOL, I always include the husband in the boy count. and thanks! Looking forward to the 4 weeks jeans post...
That is awesome! I am a new reader/blogger/exerciser and I wanted to let you know that you two are such an inspiration!
I think I saw the motivation fairy once... I shot her. Who knew? :)
I love that the motivation fairy is no little wimpy fairy---it's a tough, athletic chick. (What we aspire to be!)
Katieo: You go, girl. Keep that fairy in your pocket for as long as you can. Just not when you weigh in!
Yahoo for you! Send Gabby over my way the next time you see her, ok?
I completely lost my motivation once I lost the baby weight. I only have 10 pounds to get to my goal, but I have gotten too comfortable where I am. Thanks for the motivation to get my butt in gear! Maybe you are my motivation godmother. ;)
You are so awesome!! Just so you know, you aren't allowed to leave us when you reach your goal. I would be devastated. :)
Could you please send the Motivation Fairy over to my house?
The M&M Fairy and the Stress Fairy have been here a lot lately and I just can't seem to kick them out on my own!
Katie,
I linked here from Super Healthy Kids and thought "What a cool blog! These look like some cool sisters with a cool goal" and was reading for several days before you posted that picture of your family running together and I thought..."Wait a second, I know who this is...Katie back from Horne Hall and cello in the HFAC days."
I'm trying to remember if you know my married name; I only remember you got married first because I remember going to your reception as a single girl with Cassie Singley.
So anyway, hi. Love the blog; it's very motivating. It looks like you may live in UT? Your kids are adorable. And how do you know Amy from Super Healthy Kids?
Whitney (Stewart) Heap
Whitney, that is hilarious!
(yes, we're in UT, are you? our email is in the sidebar, if you want more info...and Amy from Super Healthy Kids found me from an article in Women's Health. So glad you found us!)
And thanks for your comments ladies! (Sorry to not be able to stay down here in the ever-fun comments section, It's my favorite place chill, I've just been insanely overwhelmed lately!)
Lots of waader and begetables. Sweet! You'll have such a blast at your 10K, and when it gets tough, the vision of Fairy Fitmother Gabby Reece will push you past the wall.
love this line:
IM SO ON A ROLL IM A LITTLE CONFUSED (and, of course, I HEART the Reece but that goes without saying)
I think as Ive gotten older Ive learned not to question in :)
have a great day!
M/
Your enthusiasm is contagious..... keep it up!!
Congrats on finding your groove!!
Can't wait to hear the details on the 10K. You will do fabulous!
