I Love You, I Love You Not

I stared at this leftover Chocolate Bundt Cake for a long,

long,

long,

time last night. I thought of all sorts of circumstances to justify sampling a just a teeny bite before I went to bed . Such ramifications inlcluded: "I can afford it! I mean, I'm going to burn like a bazillion calories tomorrow in spin" (which I did thankyouverymuch), "I luuuurve chocolate," and of course, "You're my friend. I love you." Fortunately, my hand went for the kitchen drawer and pulled out this:

Extra Polar Ice Gum Saves the Day!!

I am having a similar conversation with a cake in the kitchen here at work.

I have no gum though. Just a big ass bottle of water.

Sigh.

Must Get More Gum!

And Marie--maybe you could dump the contents of the water bottle all over the cake?

It may not endear you to those at work but it serves them right for bringing in cake.

KATIEO -- SPIN?! Today?! No fair! No fair! No fair?! Did I miss you?

Sniffle sniffle... Rona, for some unknown reason, told me today that I've lost all my form lately. Maybe its all my new clothes?

I agree w/ crabby. My Pop is diabetic and although it is very rude at a restaurant and really not cool at someone's house he regularly pours water or sprinkles pepper on deserts and other things he doesn't want to eat. It works.

Of course, if you never want to eat either chocolate cake or gum ever again take a bite of both at the same time. :P

Okay I just totally thought of Jillian when I read this. I believe it was her, or it was Kim who shared that tip on Biggest Loser recently. It's a great tip. I use to do it at work all the time, but with watermelon gum. Mint is better obviously, so I am glad you shared that with everyone.

BTW Saturday night I was in the same situation but with a pumpkin loaf with homemade sugar frosting. I threw 1/3 of it away before I went to bed, so my husband and I couldn't eat any on Sunday.
Hooray for small victories for both of us! :)

marie, hope you made it through the day. Did you pour the water on the cake?

Crabby, maybe we'll have a "Gum Giveaway" on Sister SKinny.

h, at the other gym :(
and hey! What does Rona know anyway, you've been spinning FOR ever! ooo, pepper, good idea. We've got to meet up again!

Sarah, ARGH. pumpkin loaf! I have such a weakness for pumpkin anything...except pie strangely...good job! :)

Ummm... is it bad that the picture of the cake just made my mouth water? Good job on resisting it!

And ruining food really does work!!I have to ruin my cafe rio salad when I've had enough or I will eat the entire delicious thing if I'm not careful.

i totally admire your resistance!! the gum thing works for me too...but only when i remember to put gum in my mouth before the cake...somehow it always ends up the other way around

Is that the cake with the chocolate chips and the sour cream and the pudding?? If so, I am ridiculously proud of you.
