Bwaahaaaaaa!! That is great Katie!! Think it will work?? If it does, then I am going to write a novel to the 190's!!

lol. Maybe I should send one of those folded letters to the 130s, asking if we can go out, check yes or no. Then later (hopefully) ask if we can go steady :)

Very cute. Those 140's are possessive! I'm hanging in at about 142 and it will. not. budge. Ok, I have a question for you, Katie and other posters. What is the deal with up-sizing jeans? I tried on two pairs of sixes that FIT this weekend!! I was so psyched. Then, I came home and thought, "Hey, I'd better pack away all those old 10's and 8's." They are pretty old---bought 3 years ago or more. (I was pregnant or post-partum the last two years.) But, trying them on, they fit. How am I a 6 and a 10 at the same time?? The 6's were Tommy Hilfiger and Gap, the old 10's were FUBU and Levis. So, is a 6 today what an 8 or 10 was a couple of years ago? And does it really count? Sigh. I still like the fit of the 10's, but I may have to cut the tags out so I won't have to look at double digits. (I know, it's silly.) On the good side, at least I won't need a whole new wardrobe.

Dj, I have heard about this. It's called vanity sizing and apparently they want us feeling good about ourselves.

Here is an article that I found...
It is a bit outdated, but you get the idea.

So cute. I think you should follow up with a letter to the 130's asking do you want to go out, check the box, yes no or maybe. (but don't put boxes beside anything but yes). I also would like to say see ya later to the 140's (particularily 144) so maybe if we all gang up we can get rid of it!

I'm completely diggin' the letter. Something about physically writing something out sends out the vibes in the universe, so Katie, I think you'll be hookin' up with the 130s very soon!

What a fantastic letter!

This just rocks. So funny. And pretty inspiring too!

My only problem is that I started feeling sorry for the 140's. To have gotten a catch like you and then... dumped.

But perhaps there's a nice girl a few inches taller and quite a few lbs heavier right now who will be quite pleased to meet and fall in love with the 140's. It may then be a happy-ever-after ending for both of them.

Tell the 140's to hold on...I'm looking for a new number! Actually, I just broke 160, so I'm stuck in the 150's for a while, but not for too long I hope.

Great letter! Very creative!

Em, I'd LOVE to see that (ode to 190's)...and thanks for the link.

Bri- only if you somehow include "4ever" in that note.

dj, great comment. I'm holding strong too at 142ish area. and CONGRATULATIONS on the sixes this weekend!!! Unfortunatly I don't have any concrete info on "up-sizing" other than to say sizees are indeed WHACK. Maybe we'll post on it sometime soon...
Anyway, I checked out the link Em provided (thanks!) and it was pretty interesting. But I don't think it was dealing with size differences in the last few years...more like the Marilyn Monroe size 12 is actually a 6 kind of a thing. Maybe it would help to actually measure across the waistband of the jeans. I'm sure the 10's and 6's are really close.
One last thing, I used to work at a popular retail clothing store and I would notice that even the same exact pair of jeans in the same exact size would fit differently. WHenever I'm at that store now, I always take two of whatever I'm trying on.

Struck, oh trust me. You'll know...

And Kelly, Amber and SHannon, thanks!

Randi, Loved this: "(but don't put boxes beside anything but yes)" lol!
And yes, I agree I group "strike" is in order.

Other Amber, "Something about physically writing something out sends out the vibes in the universe" So True! Now let's make those vibes work for me!

Carolyn, It's funny, the 130's are within 3 pounds from my current weight, but they STILL feel a million miles away. Still dreaming.

and thanks Meg and "a." (And Meg, hoping you're feeling better...)

Crabinator, I truly hope the 140 finds a good match. Really. Although I'm ready for the move, I want them to have a good home, lol!

(SO watch out Soap Box Girl! :)

Well, it really is them. The 140's has a little to much baggage don't you think? Hee hee!
I can't seem to get the 140's out my house either. It lays around on the couch screaming for chocolate or potato chips. Maybe if I ignore the 140's, it will go away.

This is one of my fav blogs of all time. I tried to break up with 140 but the jerk kept coming back. I'm going to shake him again. Darn it!

Just reading through a few old posts here (and totally not doing work, oops!) and came across this. I'll be a dork and admit it - this actually got me a little teary. I think it was the "I've never even met them," about the 130s. I've dipped a toe in the 140s, and am trying to break back in, but 130s? What would that have been, like, sixth grade? "I just have this feeling they're going to treat me really well." Brilliant inspiration. Thank you.

Thanks Jaime! That totally made my day.

(and pom, if you should come back and read this, I loved your comment too, :)
