This post has nothing to do with weight loss. I take that back - I tell people that I'm trying to lose my baby weight. I did not gain my baby weight the normal way that other women do. I gained mine from the wacky fertility drugs. After 8 artificial inseminations and 2 invitros and a ton of money and 30 lbs later, we realized that I just couldn't have any more children coming through me. In January, we adopted the cutest little girl and we named her Andie. So, these 30 lbs are from taking all of these drugs - not carrying a baby. Regardless, they have to come off!
Today was our big day! Andie is Ours! We went to the court and appeared before the judge. When our attorney asked me the question under oath about how was Andie doing in our home, I just got all choked up. How is she doing???!! She has turned our family upside down in the most wonderful way! We love her so much. So, I'm on cloud nine today.
Now you know where these last 30 lbs came from - the most worth it pounds I've ever put on in my life!

Congratulations!!! What a beautiful family. Babies are worth the extra weight (regardless of how you put it on!) You all look so happy. :)
WOW!, this is probably the best post you have ever made. What an AWESOME day this must be for your family. This story just brought a tear to my eye. So happy for you and your family. Kids are miracles so glad you have been blessed with another one. --- Dawn
CONGRATS! We adopted our 2nd son, and it's the most awesome experience EVER.
Wow, God has really blessed your family.
Congratulations!

Congratulations Molly! What a wonderful day for your family. It's nice to put things in perspective. Now while I don't have the best eating habits, my weight was mostly gained through 4 pregnancies so if I look at it that way, I don't feel so bad about myself. I gave birth to 4 amazing kids so those extra 25 lbs. are totally worth it. Thanks and congrats again.
She's adorable. How exciting! My sister adopted her little girl. She's the love of our lives. I can tell Andie is one lucky girl! (BTW You look great!)
What a beautiful little girl and I think you have a beautiful looking family. Congrats to all of you!!
Oh Molly, I am thrilled for you and your family. Andie is finally legally YOURS! You have patiently waited for this day for a long time. I must admit that Andie is such a cute baby. I've never seen a baby held so much, kissed so much, and doted over so much as Andie. You know, Andie isn't spoiled, she's LOVED!
What an amazing story! I know how little girls can "turn your world upside down in the most wonderful way"! That is so touching! Congratulations!!
congrats molly! what a cute family :) :)
What a great post - congratulations. She is a beautiful baby and so lucky to have found your family.
Congratulations. You have a beautiful family. What a precious day!
Now that is some awesome weight to gain! If it's worth a beauty like that!
Molly- I am so happy for you!
thank you for giving this little girl a safe home. I am doing my social work degrees (undergraduate and masters) and would love to work in adoption one day. Fabulous story!
Instead of responding to all of you individually, let me just say thank you so much for all of your words of support. I just think it is so awesome that complete strangers can be so genuinely happy for anothers' joy. I can't even go into all the detail of getting Andie but let me just say that it is truly a miracle for our family. People comment on how lucky she is to be in our family - I look at opposite - we are so blessed, lucky - whatever you want to call it - for her to be in our family. My other children are not old enough to understand where children come from. To them, THIS is their sister!
So thank you for all of your comments of congratulations, encouragement and support. It was such a wonderful day today. My husbands family threw a little party and had a little chocolate cake. We sang, "happy adoption day" to Andie and she just happily growled at everyone (that is her mode of communication!). Another thing about Andie - she doesn't cry. she is just the most mellow, happy baby. Katie is stumped by her. She is just happy all day long. That's my payoff - waiting for 6 long years, I get an angel baby!
congratulations! you are a beautiful family. that happy picture makes me smile - it's contagious! :) -girlinga.com
Congratulations, Molly! That is such an exciting day. :) You all look so happy, and she just fits perfectly into your cute little family. :)
What a gorgeous family you have. Congratulations. What a great post.
That is a beautiful family picture! I think it is interesting how much she looks like Cole and Riley. She is definitely yours! Congrats!!
How did I miss this post?
Congratulations!! WOW, and welcome to little Andie! What an amazing little addition to your family. You are so blessed!
Congratulations! You don't know me, but I am in the same ward as your parents, your mom is a dear friend to me. I taught Bethany seminary in your parents home. Anyway--I stumbled upon your site and was so excited to see this post! We adopted our son--who is now 1 1/2 and during that process I have shared many sweet conversations with your mom about the struggles of infertility and the blessings of adoption. You don't even know us, but your family has been in our prayers! What a miraculous and wonderful day for your family! Wishing you much happiness.
