Hi everyone, I hope you all had super funtastic Independence Day, and for our foreign friends, I hope your Wednesday was spectacular! I'm just posting quickly about my small victory yesterday: I didn't overeat! I didn't go to bed feeling sick. yay!!! I always tend to stuff my face around holidays thinking, ok, I'll fix this tomorrow or next week, etc. But his time I ate, enjoyed the food, didn't go back for second's or thirds, and then stopped! We cleared the table and that was that. There's a part of my brain that thinks if I'm going to enjoy this "treat", I've got to go overboard and stuff my face. But not this time, and given the recent lag in motivation I'm feeling very energized.
And, tomorrow's weigh-in. I'm not exactly looking forward to it, but not dreading it, like I normally am in a holiday week. If anything, THIS will have kept me from losing:
PB and J crusts left over from the kids. I can hear you through computer, "Wow Katie, how do you ever say no to those? You must have a willpower of steel to turn those puppies down." I know, they are not the most appetizing of deterrants, but they are a major weakness of mine nonetheless. I've really been trying this week to NOT just pop these in my mouth when we're cleaning up.
So, we'll see, I haven't gotten on the scale in a couple of days; my fingers are crossed.

Good for you! I always tend to go nuts on holidays.
You must borrow your willpower of steel from that bullet-proof plate! Cute!
Good luck with your weigh in ....
I do it tomorrow too !!
What is it about those little tidbits of leftovers you encounter when cleaning up? I have a hard time resisting too. They seem like they shouldn't count somehow, like the free samples you get at Costco.
(I can't be the only one confuses financially free with calorie free? I hope not anyway).
So good for you for leaving those babies on the plate! Those calories go in the bank for a future treat when you really need one--to be cashed in on something way better than pb&j crusts.
randi, thanks! Unfortunately sometimes weekends feel like "holidays" too! lol.
andrea, I'll come check in on you!
Crabby: EXACTLY like the free samples from Costco. And, as far as confusing "financially free with calorie free," I'm a total freakazoid about money so I end up doing that a lot. It's free. I must eat it!
And way to go to take a couple days off, you haven't had a break...um...ever?
Katieo,
I think I figured out your secret. If you take PICTURES of everything BEFORE you eat them, it gives you a chance to reconsider!
Or, it gives us a chance to pine away for some of Aaron's homemade doughnuts. Yup, I'm still thinking about those.
Sending skinnyyyyyyyyy vibes!!!! GOOD LUCK!
