Tasty Snack Ideas Under 150 Calories

I eat 3 meals a day. But I also eat at least 3 snacks a day. I'm always trying to think of snacks that are good. I know that some people start to crave healthy foods when they do it long enough. Not me. I remember taking a bag of carrots to my sons soccer game a couple of weeks ago and just chuckling. "Yeah, like THIS will stick forever!" I just crave sweets. Period. But I've learned I can still have them AND lose weight. Here is a list of things that are 150 calories or under that I like that will hopefully give you some ideas:
1. Fiber One Bar (140 calories). Of course, I could eat these all day long and with 9 grams of fiber in them w/ a little bit of chocolate on top? HEAVEN.
2. Healthy Pop Kettle Corn (one FULL bag 100 cal!) Wow! The little kick of sweet mixed w/ a little bit of salty...what a great combination! (Do you notice I type with alot of exclamation points?!!! I do that when I'm talking about food).
3.Lays Original Light Potato Chip (75 cal for 20 chips). Honestly, you CANNOT taste the difference. The problem with these? You have to count out 20 chips (and I look for the ones that aren't broken) and then PUT THE BAG AWAY.
4.Nips Sugar Free hard candy (2 pieces. for 60 calories). Bonus! They have ones that are creamy in the middle! Chocolate flavored.
5.All Bran Crackers (120 cal. for 18 crackers). They taste just like wheat thins. They come in multi-grain or garlic herb (both really good.
6. Chocolate Sugar Free Pudding (60 calories for a cup). Bonus! Also counts as a milk serving for all of you WW members.
7.Skinny Cow sandwiches (140-150 calories). Did you know these come in Chocolate Peanut butter (so-so), cookies & cream & mint besides the good ole' standbys vanilla & chocolate?
8.Fudge Bars (90 calories). by Healthy Choice-I give these a solid 10. (Somehow they packed 5 grams of fiber into these chocolate monsters! Only 1 point!)
9.1 ounce string cheese. Sounds pretty boring after that great list above...but seriously, I melt the cheese on the bran crackers. Very delicious.
10.14 honey roasted almonds. There's something great about licking the stuff off of your fingers.

The bad thing about making this list is now I'm hungry. Of course I had to sample some of these just to make sure they made my list. How about it? What are some of your favorites? Hummus & carrots? How about a root beer float? (Diet root beer + 1/2 c. vanilla frozen yogurt). What do you like? My big thing is I'm changing my kitchen to give my children healthy choices (even down to their "treats"). My daughter after eating one of the Nips said, "I LOVVVE to eat healthy"!

Thanks for the ideas, I am always looking for new food options. A couple of favorites I like right now are the South Beach Diet Snack bars...100 calories and 3 grams fiber, for WW's its 2 pts.

I would love to get my hands on the Skinny Cows Mint but all we have are the regular chocolate and vanilla around here. I am enjoying the cookies n cream bars by WW's...130 cal. or 2 pts. The ones with chocolate icecream are especially yummy. lol

Dear sisters skinny, whoever was the now-missing squatter looked darned good to me, I didn't notice any funny grimace, just how thin that sister looked!

skinny cows always go gross and mushy in my freezer. I can never eat them after bringing them home, they go all squishy-icky. Anybody else?

Mel, I love those South Beach snack bars. Also love the cookies n'cream ice cream bars by WW. (ooo, they have chocolate? I must find them!)

Julia (aka one of our favorite commenters), lol! I have the opposite problem. Skinny Cows always go rock hard in my freezer. I get to where I have to pull one out and let it sit for a couple of minutes before I even open it. As for the missing squatter, a wise reader suggested a photo, as with instructions may get us into trouble if someone tried to do an exercise but ended up getting hurt.

And Lady Rose, agreed.

I haven't tried the Skinny Cows yet. The only store that carries them in my area (that I know of) is 30 minutes away. Everytime I get there, the Skinny Cows are sold out. Which makes me want them even more! I'm looking forward to one day actually getting to eat one though.

Mel-
Do the South Beach Bars taste healthy? Are they soft & chewy?

Julia-I actually have to put my skinny Cow in the microwave for 10 sec. I like them soft-not rock hard.

I think everyone is commenting on the Skinny Cow because I made everyone start thinking about them because of the picture. I'm telling you-go try the fudge bar!

Kate-
Sorry about the pump class today. Horrendous night. I slept out on the tramp w/ kids and their friend until the huge winds brought us in at 2:00 am. I did not sleep a wink before then. They were all in thermal sleeping bags. Me? Blankie. Since I'm the heaviest, everyone rolled into me. I was the ham in the middle of the sandwich. And then, after moving everyone inside, I went upstairs, stopped Taylors snoring, switched my clothes and then the scream. I ran downstairs. Cricket in the house. I spent 20 minutes finding the black cricket & killing it. Repeated everything again. And then, I heard it myself. ANOTHER cricket inside. This one behind the entertainment center. I could of cried. Another 20 minutes catching that one. Needless to say-a very lonnnnng night.

yummy - that ice cream sandwich looks great. i'm with you, i love me some chocolate or peanut butter fiber one bars! i also love the 100 calorie hostess cupcakes, fat free cool whip, no pudge fudge brownie single servings (2 pts! and so hot and fudgy), kashi trail mix bars, 100 calorie packs of popcorn, no sugar added fudgesicles (0.5 pts), lays light cheddar and sour cream chips (1 pt = 15 chips), and of course mcdonalds frozen yogurt in a cup (2-3 pts). this is making me hungry, i need to stop thinking about delicious snacks.

The first one I tried I was like hmmm...then the 2nd I had the next day was tasting better. I put them in the freezer because they are soft and chewy kind of like a rice krispy treat. I have only tried the PB chocolate chip ones and I liked it even better when I threw it in the freezer for a chilled treat. I do the same thing with the WW zinger treats too. mmmm the Lemon ones I think are 1 pt each. Now there's a craving.

Re: Skinnycows going mushy?
I have that problem with my side by side freezer...I put them on top of the ice dispenser or I put them in the deep freeze in my garage and it gets real frozen. I know its a temperature thing in the house but its a really old side by side now and I am afraid to adjust it and have it die on me. lol

That's a great list--lots of my fav's are already on it, and I'm definitely going to check out the rest.

Lately I've been addicted to dark chocolate covered raisins--I figure only half the calories count as junk, because raisins are fruit. (And the dark chocolate is sorta healthy too, because of the antioxidants. Whatever.

Molly, lol! You know the class wasn't as good as last thursday, so don't feel too bad. The crickets? Very funny. I know, not so much last night right? :)

And Kelly, I'm with you on those hostess lovelies. After seeing them on Anne's sight, I've been wanting them ever since.

Crabby, dark choco raisins? those sound delightful! I think I read somewhere that
fruit+antioxidants=healthy. Or maybe it was antioxidants IN fruit. ah well. I'm going with your raisins.
