Goals and a Victory

I've waited until after the weekend to post my goals. Although it's always better when I post before the weekend, better late than never. I didn't have a horrible weekend, but it wasn't stellar either. SO, my goals for the week (in addition to spinning and lifting):

1) Get to bed early at least 5 nights
2) Show a 1 pound loss
3) Run 5 miles

Shocker, right? Pretty much the same goals I've had since the inception of the blog. However, I've added the 5 miles because I went running the other day (after about a month of NOT running), and noticed a significant improvement in my cardiovascular strength. I assume it's from spinning; I know my heartrate recovery has improved just from the time I've been in that class.

And now I will share my triumph of the morning, choosing grapenuts over my husband's most delicious pancakes in the world:

I know what you're thinking, and NO, that little bite wasn't taken by me. I actually ripped a little piece for the youngling. I wish I could import the smell onto this post so you could really appreciate the superhuman strength it took to touch and smell it, without putting any in my mouth.

Happy Memorial Day!

Oh, man, you get amazing points for choosing grapenuts over those pancakes.

Is there any way hubby can channel his culinary genius into baking some low cal versions of his treats? We sometimes use half sugar/half splenda in a recipe, or substitute white whole wheat for regular flour, or use light butter, etc, when baking stuff. Or we'll dump "lite" syrup on french toast. A purist would notice the difference. but even an adulterated home baked treat wins hands down over any grocery store "diet" snack.

He sounds amazing, by the way.

Unfortunately, hubby is a purist through and through.

Also, he can eat "just one" of whatever he makes. grrr. Our neighbors think we are *really* nice, because I always bring them the rest.

And he is amazing. That is kind of you to notice. Now I understand why he came into the kitchen tonight and just said "Crabby likes me."

Katieo,
(suppressing laughter) I wouldn't be able to lose an ounce with a chef like Aaron in the house.

It probably doesn't help for me to say I love you the way you are, but for the record, I do!

And I thought of your blog as I made chocolate chip cookies today for FHE. I had suggested oatmeal raisin, but Robert suggested otherwise. (and there are so few things he DOES eat. Sound familiar???) Tricky business, this Mommy-skinny stuff!

Well, you can do anything in the world. I know it!

Becca! Thanks for the comment!

Maybe it will be easier to keep in touch with you now that you are hundreds of miles away...

And thanks for the love. I actually (believe it or not) love me the way I am too. Where I am now is pretty much the weight I have been at most of my adult life. That said, I (obviously) would really love to see if I can do this. And the weight I would like to reach is closer to the "normal" range for my BMI.

And I just had to laugh about the the chocolate chip cookies. When I announce that we're making cookies, they always say, "ok mom, but we're making Dad's kind right?"
