Nighttime Munchies

Last night after i had put the kids to bed I found myself wanting a treat. So I opened the freezer:

Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches. Only 140 calories AND they have 3 grams of fiber! perfect! The only problem was I wasn't really hungry, and wasn't even craving anything. I just had a long day and wanted to feel rewarded. (sigh) so I put it back, grabbed my water and went downstairs to watch some Law and Order. One small caloric step, but a huge step for my weight loss. Oh, and one more thing, while I was watching TV, Aaron walked into the kitchen:

hmmmm. what sounds goooood? oooo, I know! an

ice. creammmmm. saaaaaandwich. yummmm.

Boy, that's a hard one: when you feel like you deserve a treat, and might still enjoy it, but you could actually do without. I still end up grabbing it about half the time.

By the way, I tagged you for a "meme" but feel free to ignore it. Details on my blog.

Well, good for you! I have found myself in that spot. Not hungry but, thinking I need a reward. It doesn't have to be food!
I ate a blizzard from DQ today and because I have allergies, I couldn't even taste it. I ate it anyway. Why? I didn't want to waste it. How dumb.

I love these things -- with summer coming I'll be getting a box or two. I only have one once in awhile but they are the best tasting low fat\low calorie ice cream products I've tried.

Congrats on NOT giving in when you were not hungry. That is an awesome accomplishment! Way to often folks use the low calorie label on food to over indulge.

Love your blog, so glad Crabby listed you in her meme so I could find it.

Way to go! I know that when I forego a nightime bowl of cereal (that's my thing), I feel a certain victory. It's not easy though.

Crabby- thanks for the meme tag. Do I just link to 5 new blogs, you and diet pulpit. Is there more involved. I'm a teensy bit frightened. :)

Samantha- I have done the same thing. I have a hard time just not finishing things.

Lady rose, I know, I love those skinny cows! And thanks for visiting!

Amy- YAY for you and your comment. Someone in the family is actually reading this thing! :) as for cereal, that's Aaron's thing. He LOVES to have a bowl after the boys go down.

Hey katieo, I loved your comments--want to reply wasn't sure if you'd see it at TheLetteroftheDay.
Usually I'm on 8th north. I love, LOVE Rona's classes. I'm the nut job that made the gnome etc. for her.
Agreed--she can be scary. On Friday her lips were black...healing from the pink tattoos! The class was great anyway. :0
I go M&F 9:15 & T at 5:15 AM All the bikes are gone by ten to 5:00 AM!!!
I've been going to spin classes, for my brain and my body, for 7 months, at least 3 times a week. I haven't lost an ounce. I donno what gives. I'm not stopping though. My food habits don't match my exercise habits yet.
Is Kristen the teacher that can't stop telling you what to do?

h- YOU'RE behind the gnome?????
i've always wondered about that!

hmmm, you are really making me want to try one of her classes again. Maybe I shall. Right now I go Mon. 6 am with Rachel. I call her pip squeak. (she's teeeny, looks 15 and has a squeaky little voice) Not my fav but I get a good workout and have made some friends in the class.

As far as Kristen goes, She might be the one with the chronic telling-you-what-to-do, (if it is, I haven't noticed) but there ARE three Kristen's...

Oh, and if you haven't noticed already, I "tagged" you. You may continue to play or decline, it's up to you! thanks again for coming by!

i love the 100 calorie slimabear ice cream sandwiches. yum!! 2 points too :)

i bought a box and brought it to work. i ate one. then some little piglets ate the rest of the box...but they left me one. i'm still mad about this bc i know i'm the only person around here on a diet. everyone else eats crap all day long. grrr!! anger.

kelly! little piglets? LOL!

Holy Cow! Where does one find a box of 20? All I've ever seen is the 6 pack. I'm assuming it's cheaper per sandwich bought that way.

On the other hand, maybe the potential for abuse is too great to risk having 20 in the house at one time.

katieo said...

Costco, my friend. Costco.

Yes, it's cheaper, and yes, potentially more dangerous.

Doh! Of course...Costco, source of all things numerous.
